The Continuation of DaughterWhere Fandom and Original Creation ConvergeWelcome my speculative fiction universe, The Continuation of Daughter, a shared universe in which you can contribute your own creative works to the canon. Quick BackgroundA group of far-future, interstellar human civilizations manage to survive for millennia, only to be fundamentally altered by the discovery of Jana, an alternate dimension that has two main properties:
Creative Opportunities for YouJana provides a wealth of possibilities for story settings, including time travel scenarios. It is, thus, a convenient means for tying these far-future civilizations back into present-day, past, or early/other future Earth. In effect, it allows for an endless array of "crossovers." I invite you to read the overview of the Continuation or view some art, literature, or characters. If your fancy is tickled, I invite you to contribute. You are, of course, free and encouraged to produce "fan works" for your own websites, zines, etc. But, unlike almost all fandoms, The Continuation invites you to contribute to the "canon." If any works you've contributed to are formally published, you will be given credit for your contributions. If you are a co-author, you will receive a percentage of royalities. With appropriate permission (readily given), you may also publish "canonical" works as the sole credited author provided you credit the contributions of others. This collaborative model combines the best of two worlds:
To find out more, read the contributors' guidelines. A note on publication and money: The Continuation, thus far, has not been picked up for publication. Its only currently published work is my self-published novel, Perdita. Please do not hold false expectations that this project is your ticket to "real publication." In time, it theoretically could be, but I make no promises. |
